![]() Since BMW does NOT want to "Educate" car thieves on exactly HOW its Immobilizer systems work, some guess-work is involved here. Motor ECU, which appears to me to indicate that on my EWS4 3/2007 328xi (US) the CAS & DME cannot be "synched".Ģ) INPA > CAS > F5 Status > F3 Status Internal > F7 Read CAS/EWS Version (mine is EWS4). I attach two INPA ScreenPrints which suggest that to me:ġ) INPA > CAS > F6 Activate > F2 Sync. My understanding also is that EWS4 either cannot be, or doesn't NEED to be, "synched" with the DME. ![]() In US, my understanding is that basically all 2007 & later models have EWS4.
